ecolink services

Wall Insulation:

If your home has no wall insulation, you could be losing up to 30% of heat through your walls. There are Government grants available to remedy this. €4000 for both external wall insulation, €2500 for internal wall dry-lining and €400 cavity wall insulation.
  • External Wall Insulation:
ecolink apply expanded polystyrene (EPS) to the outer face of the wall which is then covered with a special render to provide strength and impact resistance. This is a process of achieving the u-value of 0.27 W/m2K. This will have minimal disruption to the use of your home as all work is done from the outside.

  • Internal Wall Insulation:
ecolink will apply an insulated dry lining board to the inner face of your walls. This will achieve as close as possible to a U-value of 0.27 W/m2K. The work will cause some disruption to your home as the works are completed internally.

  • Cavity Wall Insulation:
ecolink provide a cavity injection service for cavity wall construction. Beads are pumped into the wall cavity which allows the desired U-values to be achieved. The works will cause minimum disruption to your home.

All wall insulation materials used are certified by the NSAI Agrement.

Roof attic Insulation:

Roof attic insulation is the most cost effective energy upgrade available for your home. Up to 30% of the heat from your home may be escaping if you have no or not the required insulation in your attic. There is a grant available of €250 to install or increase the amount of insulation in your attic. Current building regulations would recommend that the insulation in your attic be upgraded to 300mm.

ecolink will install two layers of 150mm thick Rockwool or fibreglass insulation laid at 90° to each other. This will achieve a u-value of 0.14W/m2K

Window Replacement:

There are options available to replace your windows with modern thermally efficient windows with state of the art glazing and a huge range of materials, colours and styles to choose from. It is an ideal time to future proof your windows against upcoming changes in regulations and energy conservation requirements

Boiler & Heating controls upgrade:

ecolink will recommend a suitable high efficiency gas/oil boiler to suit the needs of a home. We can supply and fit this boiler along with the necessary heating controls. New central heating controls can also ensure you are not using more fuel than you need.

Boiler technology is developing all the time and newer boilers have much better efficiencies. Also, as boilers become older, efficiency can be further impaired by up to 10% (efficiency refers to the of heat energy generated compared to the amount of fuel needed).

In comparison, a new, high efficiency boiler typically operates at or above 90% efficiency (a 20% improvement compared to an old boiler) providing cost and energy savings of up to 25% (SEI figures).

Solar Panels

Solar Panels can provide up to 70% of the average home's hot water requirements annually. Heating water is the second largest energy use in a typical household. Solar panels are a cost effective way to generate hot water for your home.

There are two types of thermal solar systems available. These are flat plate collector and the evacuated tube. The main component of each is the absorber, which absorbs solar radiation and converts it to heat.

Solar panels will save you up to 70% on your hot water heating bill. Enjoy the comfort of plenty of hot water at a very low cost by availing of the current grants available.
