Is to work on a partnership basis with clients to provide comprehensive advice, feasibility assessment, project planning and engineering.

Ecolink has established a working relationship with one of the top Eco Building Consultancies in Germany, Solares Bauen, based in Freiburg, Germany; a collaboration of engineers from the Fraunhofer Energy Systems Research Institute of Freiburg who have many years of practical design/ construction experience. The combination of state of the art research and extensive practical knowledge has produced a number of award winning designs In Germany and France in recent years.

One of these is 'Vauban' which is just 3 km away from the centre of Freiburg and is currently being hailed as an exemplary eco-town. It has been built on a brownfield site that was bought by the city council in 1992 after a French military deployment vacated the area. It comprises 2,000 homes to house 5,000 people; provides 600 jobs within walking distance of all its residents and produces more energy than it consumes. In fact, it is estimated to be one of the largest solar districts in Europe (CABE) and is widely seen as one of the most positive examples in Europe of social and ecological thinking in relation to urban design.

Our environmental design capability ranges from the calculation of the thermal bridges and the simulation of the thermal behaviour of the building through the selection and design of the materials and plant for inclusion in the construction."
